THE BEST PRODUCTS FOR STYLING
AND PROTECTING YOUR
HAIR SYSTEM

Replique Hair Pieces are handcrafted using high-quality Remy hair. We’re quite selective about who we supply to, as we prefer working with men who are committed to enjoying their hair and taking proper care of it.
A hairpiece—also known as a hair system or hair patch—is a significant investment and can be truly life-changing, but it does require ongoing care. It’s not as simple as throwing on a baseball cap.
At our Sydney and Brisbane locations, we work with dozens of clients every week. Helping our clients extend the life of their hair is a priority for us, which is why we’re constantly searching for new products that help style and protect the hair effectively.

Avoid using hard-setting products such as waxes or gels. These can dry out the hair and create friction during styling or combing, leading to breakage and reducing the overall lifespan of the hairpiece.
Many of our clients have been shaving their heads for years before choosing a hairpiece, so when we ask what hair care products they’re familiar with, we’re often met with a smile and a puzzled look.
We genuinely enjoy receiving photos from clients of new products they’re considering for their hairpieces. As a general rule, we always recommend using only soft, water-soluble products. These include mousse, hairspray, and pomades, which are gentle on the hair and easy to wash out.
Avoid using gels or waxes, as they can easily damage the hair when you run your fingers or a comb through it.
Looking for a wet-look finish? Brylcreem might bring back memories—I remember it from staying at my grandparents’ place and sneaking around the bathroom.
This product has been around for decades. It’s white, soft, and slightly oily, leaving a subtle, wet-look finish on the hair. A small amount goes a long way, so there’s no need to overload the hair with it.
Simply scoop out a small amount, rub it between your hands, and work it through the hair. As with any product we recommend, apply it to the hair rather than directly onto the top or back of the scalp, then gently comb it through for an even finish.

This is a favourite among our clients. It’s Australian made and available in several formulas, though we prefer the Shaping Clay because it stays soft, pliable, and doesn’t dry hard.
The product has a light colour that can linger on the hair, so it’s best used sparingly. Apply it to dry hair and comb through to evenly distribute and avoid any visible residue.
There’s no need to add more product every day—simply reactivate it with a spray bottle of water or a leave-in conditioner.
For a hair replacement to look natural, blending the human hair system with the client’s own hair is essential. In some cases, using a small amount of shaping clay to smooth the sides and back of the system downward can help achieve a seamless blend.
Remember, a little goes a long way.
One of the most important products for keeping your new hair patch soft and healthy is a leave-in conditioner. We’ve tested many different options and consistently come back to this one from Sukin.
Many leave-in conditioners have strong or overpowering scents, which can make them unpleasant to use. The Sukin leave-in conditioner has a very mild fragrance while still delivering excellent conditioning, helping to soften and nourish the hair.
Our natural hair benefits from oils produced by the scalp that keep it flexible and hydrated. With a human hairpiece, wig, or hair patch, those natural oils aren’t present, so the hair needs regular care to prevent dryness and damage.
We recommend using a leave-in conditioner like this daily or every second day, gently combing it through the hair.
For clients who style their hairpiece with a hair dryer, we suggest using a low heat setting. Lightly misting the hair with leave-in conditioner while blow-drying can also provide added protection and help maintain the hair’s condition.

At Replique, we’re focused on building long-term relationships with our clients. Because we aim to support our guys for life, it’s in everyone’s interest to help maximise the lifespan of their hairpieces so they continue to enjoy great results year after year.
That’s why we provide every client with a specially designed hairpiece comb. Many people don’t receive proper aftercare guidance from their Australian hair unit supplier, leaving them unsure how to correctly maintain and care for their system.
When it comes time to style a hairpiece, it’s natural to reach for whatever brush or comb is nearby. However, standard brushes and combs aren’t designed for hair systems. Many brushes are created for specific styling purposes, such as adding volume with a hair dryer.
The bristles on these brushes can be quite harsh and may cause breakage or even pull hairs out of the hairpiece. Similarly, fine-tooth combs can be too narrow and abrasive, making them unsuitable and potentially damaging when styling a hair system.
Using a Replique Hair Piece comb gently can significantly help extend the life of your hairpiece. Our range of combs, hair oils, shampoos, and conditioners is available online at repliquehair.com, as well as at our Brisbane and Sydney locations.
